As the risk of inflow of foreign plant pathogens continues to increase, the need to establish a preemptive national response system has emerged. Therefore, the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency wants to strengthen the national biosecurity network by selecting risk high invasive pests, preventing inflow, and preparing response guidelines for early detection and rapid management. In this presentation, Geosmithia morbida was selected for requirements and a draft response guideline was prepared. For the response manual, five sections were prepared. They are 1: Pathogen information including taxonomic position, distribution, host range, physiological and ecological characteristics; 2: Identification including symptoms, morphology, and morphological characterization; 3: Investigation methods including symptom observation, preliminary diagnosis, and PCR-based detection and identification of G. morbida using species-specific primers; 4: Control methods including phytosanitary treatment, chemical treatment, host plant resistance, and sanitary felling; 5: Introduction pathways including vector dispersal, infested wood, and plant trade.
